Consular Delays and Closures During Lunar New Year

The Lunar New Year holiday season may cause visa application processing interruptions, consular closures and travel delays.

Millions of people are expected to travel throughout East and Southeast Asia during the Lunar New Year holiday season. Government offices in many observing countries may work to reduced hours or close completely during this time. As a result, travel-related delays and government and business interruptions should be expected, and are likely to peak around January 29-31, 2025.

Clients are encouraged to submit visa applications as early as they can. Applications submitted near to consular closure dates may not be accepted or actioned until government offices reopen.
